Regina Emma (Ruggiero) Thompson, 85, a resident of Brockton, died peacefully at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Daughter of the late James and Josephine (Antonelli) Ruggiero, she was born in Medford and raised in Winthrop. She was a graduate of East Boston Schools and attended the Christ for the Nations Bible College in Texas. Regina was a resident of Brockton for the past 10 years after living in Stoughton and Texas for several years. She was a clerk at Marshall's at Westgate Mall for several years before retiring many years ago. She enjoyed reading, cooking Italian cuisine, dancing and spending time with her family.
Regina was the mother of the late Joanne M. Martin and Robert J. Thompson. She was the grandmother of Rich and Kristen Martin and Jason, Ashley, Steve and Tim Thompson and the great-grandmother of Richie, Ashley, Cassandra, Joseph, Zackary, Tabitha and Chelsea. She was the sister of Ann Johnston and Frances Vose both of Easton, Walter Ruggiero of Danvers and the late Mary Ciulla, Nicholas, Joseph and James Ruggiero. She is also survived by several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, October 29 at 10:30 AM. Visitation prior from 9:30-10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton on Monday, October 31 at 12 PM. Donations in Regina's memory may be made to the Church of the Living God, 227 E. Main St., Avon, MA 02322.
