Regina A. (Cotter) Connolly, 97, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, surrounded by loving family and friends, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late John J. "Jack" Connolly. Born and raised in Stoughton, she was a graduate of St. Mary's School, Stoughton High School and the Burdett Business School. She was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Mrs. Connolly worked at the St. Joseph's Manor Nursing Home in Brockton for many years, where she befriended many of the residents over her time there. Regina and Jack enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, her sister Marie and her entire extended family. Regina had a special passion for helping those in need at every point of her life.
Mrs. Connolly is survived by her children, Patti Kovalski and her husband Tony, Jane McGuirk and her husband Stuart all of Duxbury, John M. Connolly, MD and his wife Kathleen Connolly, MD of Marion and Diane M. Gemba and her husband Tony of Sharon. She was the sister of the late Marie Cotter, James. Leo, Gerald and Eugene Cotter. Mrs. Connolly was the grandmother of Jennifer and Jillian Kovalski, Brendan, Caroline and Katie McGuirk and Regina Gemba. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 14, at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday, April 13, from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
