Raymond F. Ball, 90, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the wife of 64 years of Helen T. (Horan) Ball. Born in Boston, he was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mr. Ball was a resident of Stoughton for over 58 years. He was a Veteran of the US Navy in World War II where he served in the South Pacific. He was also in the Army Reserves for 4 years. Mr. Ball worked for the MBTA for over 35 years, retiring in 1985 as an Inspector. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing and going on cruises.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Madelyn M. White of CA and Raymond F. Ball of MD and his grandson Jonathan White. He was the brother of the late Claire Connolly of Brockton.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 27 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage St., Sharon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-6 PM.
