Ray Belle

Ray Belle, 81, a resident of Raynham, formerly of Sharon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. He was the husband of Margaret R. (Craddock) Belle for 57 years. He was the son of the late Otis and Ethel (Jones) Belle. He was born in Thomasville, GA and raised in Miami, FL and later the South End in Boston. Ray was a graduate of English High School in Boston and Northeastern University. He was a resident of Sharon for 39 years before moving to Raynham two years ago. Ray served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He worked at Polaroid for 30 years and was the Executive Vice President of Human Resources before retiring in January, 1996. An avid Boston sports fan, he enjoyed fishing, walking, exercising, bird watching, gardening, and watching Western movies, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his sons, David E. Belle and his wife Lisa of Stoughton and Gregg A. Belle and his wife Annemarie of Raynham. He was the grandfather of Dominic, Gianna, Jacqueline and Hannah Belle. He was the brother of Samuel Belle of Sacramento, CA, Dorothy Williams of Arlington, Tony Belle and Robert Belle both of Dorchester and the late William Kelley and Otis Belle, Jr. Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 12 at 11:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
