Raul Monte Brasil Costa, a resident of Stoughton since 1958, died peacefully at home on Friday Oct. 12. He was 86. Mr. Costa was the loving husband of Mary A. (Fernandes) Costa for over 54 years. Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, Mr. Costa was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Diamantina Dacosta Melo. He worked for the Draper Brothers Company in Canton for many years until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Costa is lovingly remembered by his family as being a family man who loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Costa is survived by his son, Anthony Costa and his wife Lassalete of Taunton. He was the loving grandfather of Gabriella, Isabella and Cristina. Mr. Costa was the brother of Elsa and Eva Melo of Fall River and many deceased brothers and sisters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte.27) Stoughton on Tuesday October 16 at 8:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., (Rte.27) Stoughton at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday 5-8 PM. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
