Ralph S. Clough, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of 59 years of Janet L. (Ostergard) Clough. Son of the late Charles and Grace (Bombard) Clough, he was born and raised in Worcester and graduated from Worcester North High School, Class of 1946. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Fitchburg State College and his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Boston University. Mr. Clough resided in Stoughton for 59 years. He was an educator at Canton High School for 37 years before retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton and was a trustee with the church. He was the Secretary to the Board at the Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton, where he was a member for 59 years. Mr. Clough was active with the Boys Scouts, Troop 57 for over 30 years and was a member of the Troop Council. He was a member of the Stoughton Republican Town Committee.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Clough is survived by his children, Russell D. Clough and his wife Stephanie of Stoughton, Philip A. Clough and his wife Diane of Mansfield and Lisa J. Traub and her husband Jerry of Torrington, CT, as well as his grandchildren, Marie, Dean, Courtney, Emily, Elizabeth, Eric, Krista, Matthew, Michael and Matthew. He was the brother of the late Charles Clough, Jr. and Virginia Hager and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from the First Congregational Church, address below, on Friday, November 28 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will be private. Donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
