Phyllis A. (Libby) Batchelder, 83, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Friday, July 8. Daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Wood) Libby, she was born in Newark, NJ. She graduated from Stoughton High School. Mrs. Batchelder was a homemaker, as well as an accomplished artist. She was a Past President of the Stoughton Historical Society and active at First Parish Universalist Church in Stoughton.
Mrs. Batchelder is survived by her daughters, Kathleen S. Kelley of Gloucester and Linda S. Marshall of Brockton. She was the grandmother of Warren Snow, Suzanne Snow-Aguiar and Tracey Snow and great-grandmother of Andrew and Matthew McLaughlin and Cassidy Snow. She was the sister of Barbara Sleeper of FL and the late Herbert Libby. She is also survived by her former husband, Warren Batchelder and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 15 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 AM. Donations in Phyllis' memory may be made to the MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St. Ext., Brockton, MA 02301.
