Peter A. Proestakes

Peter A. Proestakes, a resident of Stoughton, age 75, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband to Jean E. (Tasillo) Proestakis for 45 loving years. Born in Vresthena, Greece, he was the son of the late Aristides Proestakis and Georgia (Rozenitis) Proestakis, and was raised and educated in Boston, graduating from Jamaica Plain High School, Class of 1968. He worked as a parking lot manager for East Coast Management on State Street in Boston for over 25 years before retiring. Peter enjoyed gardening, landscaping, good food, and above all spending time with family.

In addition to his dear wife Jean, Peter is survived by his children Elena J. Garcia and her husband Michael of Dedham, and Alexander P. Proestakis and his wife Amy of Stoughton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hayley Holmes and Mya Garcia, and his great-grandchildren Peyton, Everleigh, and Kevin Holmes. He leaves behind his siblings, Helen Sinos and James Proestakes, and was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Proestakes.

Visiting Hours are omitted at the family’s request, and a Funeral Prayer service will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), on Friday January 31st at 10:30 AM. Burial will be held privately.
