Peter J. Melito, Sr., 83, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 26 at the Sturdy Memorial in Attleboro after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of over 60 years of the late Jean M. (Sullivan) Melito. Born and raised in Boston, he was a resident of Stoughton for over 45 years. Mr. Melito was a truck driver at SS Pierce in Woburn for many years before working at Cirelli Foods in Brockton before retiring 15 years ago. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Melito is survived by his children, Vincent "Mickey" Melito and his wife Rose of Attleboro, Jean Paciocco and her husband Wayne of Mashpee and Peter J. Melito Jr. of FL. He was the brother of Jennie DeChazo of N. Attleboro, Mary Smith of ME, Beatrice Hernandez of FL, Helen Melito of Boston and the late Dominic and James "Chicky" Melito. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 5 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
