Peter J. Limbey, 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, July 7, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Bessie (Carabatsos) Limbey and the former husband of Ann P. (Maguire) Limbey. Born and raised in Lowell, he was a graduate of Lowell schools and attended the Mass. College of Pharmacy. He was a resident of Stoughton for 75 years. Mr. Limbey served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was a purchasing agent and quality controller for JW Wood in Stoughton for over 20 years before working for the US Postal Service for over 20 years. He retired in 1991. Mr. Limbey was a member of the Lions Club, VFW Post 1645 and American Legion Post 89 all in Stoughton and was a Past President of Stoughton Little League. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Limbey is survived by his children, William P. Limbey, James P. Limbey and Kathleen A. O'Neil and her husband Paul all of Stoughton and Suki E. Russell and her husband Jeff of W. Bridgewater. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Molly Russell, Rebecca Regan and her husband Russell, Jeffrey Russell, Jr. and his wife Kristen, Joshua Russell and his wife Danielle, Jessie Russell, Kyra O'Neil and Anna O'Neil, as well as his great-grandchildren, Russell Regan and Graham Russell and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George J. Limbey and Madeline Limbey.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 11 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
