Pauline A. (Bernard) Petrie, 88, a resident of Wareham, died peacefully at Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. She was the wife of the late Leo I. Petrie Jr. Daughter of the late Andrew J. and Margaret M. (Harrington) Bernard, she was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury. She was a graduate of Mt. Alvernia High School in Newton and attended Regis College. Pauline resided in Stoughton for 30 years before moving to Sagamore for 20 years then Wareham for the past 14 years. She worked at BayBank in Stoughton for over 10 years before working at Filene’s in Braintree then the Christmas Tree Shop in Sagamore for 20 years until her retirement at age 77. She was a member of the Clipped Wings Club. She enjoyed knitting, traveling and driving around looking for yard sales but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Pauline is survived by her children, Leo I. Petrie III of Wareham, Mark J. Petrie and his wife Joanne of Hull, Andrea J. “Andy” Colp and her husband Edward of Wareham and John M. Petrie of Virginia. She was “Mimi” to her 11 grandchildren and “Gigi” to her 6 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Regina Casale of Nashua, NH, Anne Roche of Pennington, NJ and the late Jack Bernard, Patricia McEvoy, Margaret Kelley, Andrew Bernard Jr., Richard Bernard, Jean “Mike” Moroney, Phillip Bernard, Lawrence Bernard and George Newland. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Thursday, June 20 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 401 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
