Pauline F. (Dembro) Gallagher, 87, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain Schools. She was also a graduate of the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and UMass Boston. She was a resident of Stoughton for 55 years. Pauline was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Brockton Multi-Service for over 25 years before retiring at age 74. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, dancing at Stoughton Senior Center and traveling the world. The Gallagher family would like to thank Diane McGrath for the kind and compassionate care shown to their mother which greatly improved the quality of Pauline's life over the past 18 months.
Pauline is survived by her children; Cynthia A. Callahan and her husband Russell of Billerica, Bernard T. Gallagher, Jr. and his wife Merelyn of Leominster, Joseph P. Gallagher of Brockton and Lynne E. McCormack and her husband William of Stoughton. She was the sister of J. Leonard Dembro of Florida and the late Frank Dembro. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, October 5 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 PM and again on Monday from 10-10:30 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline's memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
