Paul Joseph Whittaker, 74, a resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Heights Crossing in Brockton on Sunday, April 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Arthur G. and Norma (Piccone) Whittaker. He was born in Norwood and raised in Stoughton. Paul graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1967. He resided in Ft. Myers, FL for 10 years before returning to Stoughton 2 years ago. He was a civil engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 40 years before retiring 10 years ago. He was an avid golfer and was a member at Eagle Ridge Golf Course. He as also a PGA Tour Partner Club member. Paul was a Boston sports fan and enjoyed going to Red Sox spring training games while he was living in Fort Myers. He also coached CYO basketball teams at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton for several years.
Paul is survived by his siblings, Richard Whittaker and his wife Yvonne of Wareham, Arthur Whittaker, Jr. and his wife Gail of Stoughton, Francis Whittaker and his wife Shirley of Easton and Janice Dapper and her late husband Thomas of Stephenson, Virginia. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 4th from 9:30-11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul‘s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
