Paul P. Werkowski

Paul P. Werkowski, 84, of Stoughton, died Saturday, June 21 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. He was the husband of V. Barbara (Waygan) Werkowski. Born in Cambridge and raised in Watertown, he was a resident of Stoughton for the past 45 years. A Veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, he was a member of the 1st Ranger Battalion and spent 16 months as a German prisoner of war. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart and POW medal. Following World War II he enlisted in the US Air Force, retiring from active service in 1961 and reserve duty in 1974. Following his military career he worked for 20 years for Picker Corporation until his retirement in 1988.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Werkowski is survived by his children, Denise Ginsburg of Bridgewater, Joan Carroll and David Werkowski both of Stoughton, Michael Werkowski of Canton, Barbara Roche of Brockton, Anita Parker and Paula Taylor both of N. Easton. He was the brother of Agnes Utorka of Walpole, Helen Rice of Framingham and Fabian Werkowski of FL. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Monday, June 30 at 9 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 PM. Visiting Hours omitted.
