Paul J. Sullivan, 57, a resident of Sharon, died peacefully in Walpole on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Beloved son of the late Daniel J. and Ethna J. (Silvery) Sullivan, he was born in Boston and raised in Weymouth. Paul was educated in Weymouth schools. He was a resident of Sharon for the past 18 years. Paul was the cherished brother of Claire M. Sullivan of Sharon and Patricia A. Smith and her husband David of Tampa, FL and dear uncle of Gregory Smith of Minnesota. He is also survived by several loving cousins and treasured friends.
A longtime employee at Sharon's Restaurant in Braintree, Paul was named the 1995 Weymouth Block Grant Recipient of the Year and was honored by the South Shore Arc that same year. He also enjoyed working at Lifeworks Employment Services in Norwood and participating in the Arc of South Norfolk Day Habilitation program.
A man of eclectic interests, Paul loved classical music and was a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, the WWE, and the Three Stooges. He was a medal winner in several Senior Special Olympics competitions and he enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Sharon Country Club. Paul was also an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows parish. With smiles and warm hugs for all, Paul was everybody's Pal.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 20 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sharon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
