Paul V. Nimeskern

Paul V. Nimeskern, Sr., 71, a resident of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2019. He was the husband of Beverly LaFleur. Born and raised in Quincy, he also resided in Randolph for many years before moving to Murrells Inlet 4 years ago. Paul was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 40 years of service. He was a Past Commander of the AMVETS Post 51 in Randolph and was a member of the American Legion Post 178 in Murrells Inlet. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League in Quincy and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Paul loved being a Marine and also enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach and chauffeuring his grandchildren around in his golf cart. When "Pappy" wasn't watching his grandchildren participate in their activities, he could be found watching the Patriots and Red Sox at the AMVETS or South Side Patty's in Murrells Inlet. Everyone will miss his "Grumpy" demeanor.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Paul V. Nimeskern, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Hanover, Adele Vigneau and her husband Marc of Hanson, Suzanne Jolley and her husband Eric of Stoughton, Chris LaFleur and his wife Barbara of Braintree, Kerri Faria and her husband Ryan of Bridgewater and Greg LaFleur and his wife Christine of Raynham. He was the loving "Pappy" to 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton on Saturday, February 2 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. A private interment with military honors will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date.
