Paul J. Ellis, 72, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Denmark, ME. He was the husband of Maureen (Broman) Ellis for 43 years. Son of the late Paul D. Ellis and Rosemary (Christiano) Wier, he was born in Boston and educated in Stoughton schools and Boston Trade School. In addition to being a lifelong Stoughton resident, Paul enjoyed spending time at his land in Denmark, ME for the past 20 years. He owned S&E Welding for over 30 years before starting his own trucking company, PPR Trucking, where he worked for 20 years until retiring at age 65. Paul was a member of the Denmark Snowmobile Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding motorcycles and quads, farming and fixing anything around his homes but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, friends and dogs.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Sammi Hutchison and her husband Rick of Carver, Eric Ellis and his wife Anne Geary-Ellis of Carver and Paul McGrath and his wife Jane of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Kristi, Alicia, and Alana Hutchinson, Michael and Melanie Ellis and Colin and Sarah McGrath. He was the brother of Rosemary Woodbury of Foxboro. He also leaves behind his beloved Labs, Storm, Jack and Ginger.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, August 21 at 12 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 10 AM – 12 PM. Burial will be private. Masks and social distancing required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name may be made to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, 1389 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, ME 04037(www.harvesthills.org).
