Paul Michael Connelly

Paul Michael Connelly, 60, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after an 18-year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lauren A. (Butler) Connelly for 34 years. Son of the late Mark T. and Claire T. (Sparks) Connelly, he was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. Paul was a Class of 1982 graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton. He worked for the Bank of Canton for the past 30 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Canton Town Club from the age of 18. He loved cars and trucks, all Boston sports teams and Notre Dame football, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his sons, Michael P. Connelly of Stoughton PD and his wife Samantha of Bridgewater and Jack T. Connelly of Stoughton. He was the brother of Patrick Connelly and his wife Karen of Braintree, Mark Connelly and his wife Joan of Weymouth, Kathie McLaughlin and her husband Kevin of Stoneham, Stephen Connelly and his wife Sandra of Stoughton and Shawn Connelly of Stoughton. He is also survived by his his sisters-in-law, Donna Larkin of Brockton and Karen Butler of West Bridgewater, his grand-dog, Finley and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, September 1st at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main St., North Easton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 3-7 PM.  Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Paul Connelly to support research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Please make gifts payable to “Dana-Farber” and include “in memory of Paul Connelly” in the memo line.
