Patrick B. "Bernie" King, 82, a longtime resident of Stoughton died at Brockton Hospital on Thursday, March 5, 2015 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Marilyn E. (Wiegand) King. Son of the late Patrick John King and Agatha Mary (Smith) King Antonellis, he was born in Boston, raised in Roxbury and educated in Boston schools. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. Mr. King was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Local 369 UWUA with the Boston Edison for 42 years before retiring in 1995. Mr. King was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 200 in Stoughton. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his family and attending his grandchildren's events.
Mr. King is survived by his children, Stephen P. King and his wife Brenda of Florida, Brian W. King of Middleboro, Patricia E. Carter and her husband David and Diane M. Kimball and her husband Scott all of Stoughton. He was the brother of Margaret Morganelli of Weymouth, Carmella Berger of Attleboro, A. Loretta Marando of Foxboro, W. Joseph Antonellis of Weymouth and the late Frances E. McKenna, Mary Harney, Charles S. King and Rita Zaccone. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, March 9 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
