Patrick J. Doherty

Patrick J. Doherty, 63, died peacefully at home with his loving and devoted wife Catherine of 43 years by his side on January 18, 2019 after a period of failing health. Son of the late John A., Jr. and Margaret R. (Lawler) Doherty, he was born in Weymouth and raised in Stoughton. Upon graduating from Stoughton High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country. Patrick was a Vietnam Era Veteran and was stationed in Korea.

Prior to retiring Patrick was a successful Truck Driver and Owner Operator and had worked locally for McAuley Leasing, Jetline Environmental Services and Cohenno Inc. of Stoughton.

Mr. Doherty is survived by his two daughters Cristin Quattrucci and Wayne of Taunton and Caitlin Vacca and her husband Anthony of Stoughton. He was the proud PAPA of 5 grandchildren: Haley, James Patrick, Mia, Nicholas Patrick and Sean Patrick. He was the brother of John "Jack" Doherty, III and his wife Rennie of Saugus, James A. Doherty of Massachusetts, Mary M. Ball of Easton, Kathleen A. Doherty of Mansfield, Michael Doherty of California, Margaret Doherty and Stan Malinowski of Abington, Joseph P. Doherty of New Hampshire and the late Teresa E. Doherty and Timothy Doherty.

He was the son-in-law of Walter E. McAuley Jr. of Easton and the late Patricia F. (Washwell) McAuley. He was the brother-in-law of Patricia Raymond and Robert "Biff" Raymond of Florida, Walter McAuley III and Denise McAuley of Stoughton and William McAuley and Charles Dunne of Easton.

Patrick was beloved by many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Thursday, January 24 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Patrick's memory may be made to any Veterans Organization of your choice.
