Known by all who met her as a one-of-a-kind, they-broke-the-mold, quick-witted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, co-worker, and friend, Patricia "Pat" Mary (Corbett) Izzo, 76 years old, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2021, in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Pat was born to Fred and Helen Corbett in Northampton, Massachusetts, and spent over seven decades focused on family and friends. A woman of great strength, she met hardship with a towering will that inspired others, often infusing a situation with a sleight-of-hand comment that brought humor and levity, almost as if she were winking at life, letting others know the joke was on them. She laughed hard and often. A master of the wisecrack, Pat enjoyed shocking others with her illuminating wit. No doubt, the best seat at the party was next to Pat. Having lived in Northampton, MA, Richmond, VA, and Scottsdale, AZ, Pat was an accomplished medical transcriptionist, EMT, and fierce Scrabble competitor. She didn't lose her battle with cancer. Pat won her battle with cancer, beating every odd and claiming 20 more years of memories than originally thought medically possible. We all thank her for that! Above all, Pat loved her family.
She is survived by her children, Beth Cuzzone, Nick Izzo, and Clay Kaufman; her grandchildren Zak Kaufman, Nina Kaufman, Kenna O'Donnell, and Kayden Izzo; her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Corbett and many nieces and nephews as well as numerous people she called family. Predeceasing Pat is her daughter, Gina Kaufman; her parents Fred and Helen Corbett; and her brothers and sister Thomas Corbett, Theodore Corbett, Francis Corbett, and Paula Corbett.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street, Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider donating in Pat's memory to Team Edna, 26 Upton Hills Lane, Middleton, MA 01949.
