Otis P. "Joe" Forrester, Jr., 70, died at his home in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 46 years of Carol A (Lottsfeldt) Forrester. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. He also attended Massasoit Community College. Mr. Forrester was a resident of Brockton since 1978. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Lance Corporal. He worked in the Electronics field for many years for several area companies. Mr. Forrester loved to find a bargain and could be found at area yard sales, flea markets and auctions whenever he could. He was known as a handyman with a big heart who loved to lend a hand to family and friends. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kelly A. Johnson and her husband Vincent of Middleboro, Brian R. Forrester and his wife Olympia of Taunton, Jason M. Forrester and his wife Laura of Stoughton and Jennifer L. Peirce and her husband Benjamin of NH. He is survived by his 7 brothers; Lee Forrester and Richard Forrester both of Stoughton, Ronald Forrester and his wife Kathryn of Martha's Vineyard, Stephen Forrester and his wife Sherrill of Easton, Dennis Forrester and his wife Susan of Attleboro, Gary Forrester and his wife Colleen of Raynham and Kevin Forrester and his wife Patricia of Brockton. Joe was the beloved Grandpa of Matthew and Timothy Johnson, Stella, Sophia and Samantha Forrester and Parker and Kinsey Peirce. Joe was the brother in law of Diane Farioli and her husband Peter of Taunton. He is also survived by Carol Ann Forrester of Stoughton and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 5-8. Burial will be private. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
