Oscar M. Silva, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 8. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Baker) Silva. Son of the late Joseph and Mary Silva, he was born and raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School. Mr. Silva was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed carpenter for 30 years. He was a member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton. He was a life-member of the D.A.V.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Silva is survived by his children, Richard O. Silva of Stoughton and Katrina L. Brown of Weymouth. He was the brother of Arthur F. Silva of Stoughton and the late Joseph and Anthony Silva. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
