Oneda V. Lombard

Oneda (Lebel) Lombard, 98, died Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Northboro. She was the wife of the late William E. Lombard. Born in Newburyport, she was raised and educated in Rochester, NH. She came from a large family of 13 children and lived on a farm, growing gardens, feeding livestock and preparing food which was needed for such a large family. This may be why she enjoyed cooking. Her husband Bill, who died in 1971, always said he was the recipient of all of that good food. She was especially proud of her home baked apple pies. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 30 years before moving to Shrewsbury over 10 years ago.
Oneda loved the simple things in life, not caring about cars, computers or fancy big houses. She loved to go boating and fishing with her husband Bill, and later developed a hobby for knitting and doing picture puzzles. Her other favorite things to do was go on vacations and visit her loving nieces, Eleanor and Joan. She will be remembered for her gentle, passive nature, kind attitude and deep love for family and friends.
She was the mother of William E. Lombard, Jr. of CA, Ronald L. Lombard of Shrewsbury and the late Norman Lombard. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, August 21 at 1 PM. Visiting Hours prior to services from 12-1PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Oneda's name may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447.
