Norma A. Sullivan, 76, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, August 27 at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton after a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, she was raised and educated in Boston and Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. She also earned her Bachelor's Degree and Masters Degree at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater. Ms. Sullivan was a History Teacher at the Sharon Middle School for many years, retiring over 17 years ago. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Retired Massachusetts Teachers Association. An avid reader, Norma enjoyed history, genealogy, traveling and taking cruises with her sister Joan.
She is survived by her sister Joan M. Sullivan of Stoughton and several cousins. She was the daughter of the late Simon C. Sullivan and Violet E. (Safford) Sullivan.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday Evening, Sept. 8 at 7 PM. Visiting hours prior to the prayers from 4-7 PM. Donations in Norma's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
