Nicholas Homer Mendillo, age 38, passed away suddenly, after a long and courageous struggle with addiction, from an accidental drug overdose at his family home in Stoughton on March 17, 2022. Nick went to the Stoughton public schools, where he excelled at baseball and hockey; and then graduated from Mesa State University in Grand Junction, Colorado with a degree in business administration in 2007. After a three-year position at State Street Bank in Boston, Nick followed his entrepreneurial spirt and had been pursuing different business ventures. He was exceptionally well read and up-to-date on all aspects of politics, culture and sports. Gregarious and outgoing, he enjoyed lively conversation and being with family and friends. In recent years, Nick developed an avid interest in gardening, especially the new concept of micro-greens.
He is survived by his parents, Robert Mendillo and Lynn McSweeney, and by his younger brother Gabe, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and his loyal friend John Marshman and his longtime girlfriend Tyler Thorpe. He will be remembered and missed by all.
