Nellie I. (Abril) Barros, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Antonio Barros. Born in North Easton, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. She worked as a cafeteria worker at the Stoughton Junior High School for many years and also at Lyne Labs in Stoughton for many years, retiring several years ago. She was a lover of cats and in her free time, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Barros is survived by her children, Theresa A. Havey of East Bridgewater, Nancy J. Patricelli of Brockton, Lynda S. Koshinsky of Greenfield and Anthony J. Barros of Stoughton. She was the sister of Francis Abril of Florida, Anne Abril of Stoughton and the late Joseph Abril, Anthony Abril, Manuel Abril, John Abril and Mary Butler. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Nellie's memory may be made to the Copley at Stoughton Patient Activities Fund, 380 Sumner St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
