Nancy E. Dorgan, 67, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Thursday, May 13, 2021 after a period of failing health. Daughter of the late George A. and Doris T. (Castagnola) Dorgan, she was born in Boston and raised in Arlington. Nancy was a graduate of Arlington Catholic High School and Boston State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She resided in Stoughton for 30 years. She was a registered nurse working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Boston Medical Center for 38 years before retiring 6 years ago. She enjoyed teaching and mentoring many new nurses. Nancy was an expert quilter and a member of the "Brown Bag Quilters." She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family, often touring Europe and the Caribbean. She especially loved her annual summer vacation to Wells, Maine.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Stephen A. Dorgan and his wife Elizabeth of Stoughton. She was the aunt of Ann Fiske and her husband Evan and their daughter Nora. She is also loved and missed by many cousins and wonderful friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton on Thursday, May 20 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
