Mirenda V. "Violet" (Blades) Nickerson, 81, died at the Brockton Hospital on Wednesday, October 19 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Lawrence R. Nickerson. Born and educated in Woods Harbor, Nova Scotia, she resided in Stoughton for 41 years. Mrs. Nickerson was a housewife at home with her family. In her free time she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nickerson is survived by her sons, Radford Nickerson and Gary Nickerson both of Taunton, Wayne Nickerson and Brian Nickerson both of Middleboro, as well as her grandchildren, Sarah J., Ross, Nicole and Jake Nickerson. She is also survived by her sisters, Essie Brannen and Lillian Adams, her brother, Jerry Blades all of Nova Scotia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 PM. Donations in Violet's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, 02140-1102 or American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville, MD 20852. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.
