Mildred Keiko (Yagami) Wilson, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Saturday, September 26, 2015. She was the wife of the late Carl M. Wilson. Born and raised in Lahaina, Hawaii, she was a graduate of Lahainaluna High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii. Mildred was a resident of Stoughton for over 60 years. She was a substitute teacher for Stoughton Public Schools and also taught at Beaver Country Day in Chestnut Hill. She then worked at Western Hemisphere, a rare book and manuscript business and at Merkert Enterprises before retiring 18 years ago. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Stoughton Art Association and the Old Stoughton Music Society. She was an avid knitter and also enjoyed painting and sewing.
Mildred is survived by her children, Christian Wilson of Assonet, Frances Chaplin of Adamsville, RI, Diane Learned of Lexington and David Wilson of Randolph. She was the grandmother of Jason, Nick, Eric, Austin and Anna and great-grandmother of Gregory. She was the sister of Michie Kosaka of Hawaii and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 1 from 4-7 PM with a service for remembrances starting at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
