Michelle T. Malone, 49, of Stoughton, passed away Monday morning, September 18, 2017 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Michelle is survived by her son, Stephen T. Schneider, of Sunderland, MA., her father, Thomas F. Malone and his partner Emily Flynn, of Peabody, MA., her mother, Marion C. Malone, of Stoughton, MA., her younger sisters Susan M. Marshall and her husband Brian, of Canton, MA. and Deborah A. Malone, of Boston, MA., and her niece and nephews Connor, Shane and EmmaKate, of Canton, MA. Michelle is survived by many aunts and cousins and was loved unconditionally by her cousin Melissa Beary, her husband Joe Beary and their son Walter, of Easton, MA.
Michelle was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of '85 and Massasoit Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. Michelle was one of a kind, with a strong will, a beautiful smile and a fierce sense of humor. She found her greatest joy running her family business, The Marlboro Market, in Boston, with her sister Debbie. Michelle loved being at the store, which she called her second home. She took such pride in taking care of the needs of her customers in the Back Bay, getting to know their families and especially their kids and dogs. One of her favorite times was being the only store open during the winter of 2015 when Boston got over 110 inches of snow. Michelle slept at the Elliot Hotel so she could always be there and be open for her customers.
Whether horseback riding and doing gymnastics as a young girl, riding motorcycles, camping, hunting or shooting, Michelle was a lover of all animals, of all things fast and all things loud. She was fiercely independent and did everything her own way, right up until the end when she fought to survive the cancer that took her life one week before her 50th birthday. Michelle will be greatly missed and was truly one of a kind. Her family takes solace in knowing that she was comfortable and felt no pain when she passed. And that she is now in a place where she can be free, to be with her beloved dogs Harley and Hooter, do back handsprings across the lawn, ride motorcycles as fast as she can and listen to Lynyrd Skynrd and the Allman Brothers as loud as she wants.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 21 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michelle's memory may be made to Last Hope K9 Rescue, 71 Commercial St., #184, Boston, MA 02109.
