Michael C. McNamara, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, August 7, 2014. He was the husband of Keri A. (Lydon) McNamara. Son of Charles H. and Carmen M. (Mastrocola) McNamara, he was born in Brockton and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1984. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY and his Master's Degree in Finance from Boston University. Michael was a controller at EMC in Hopkinton for the past 11 years after working at Teradyne in Boston for 8 years. He was a communicant at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton and coached basketball at St. John the Evangelist School. He enjoyed hiking, biking, kayaking, camping and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, Michael is survived by his children, Kaitlyn E. and William M. McNamara both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Maura M. Goodney and her husband Peter of Southboro, Susan L. Richardson of Franklin and her late husband Benjamin and Louis S. McNamara and his wife Jacqueline of Stoughton. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, August 13 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Michael's memory may be made to St. John the Evangelist School, 696 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
