Michael R. McElroy

Michael R. McElroy, 51, died unexpectedly at his home on August 8. He was the husband of 25 years of Anne M. (Webb) McElroy. Born in Queens, NY, he was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton Schools. He was a resident of West Bridgewater for 20 years. He worked as a Laborer in the Street Division of Bay State Gas based in Brockton for over 20 years. He retired due to an injury. He was a member of the Laborers Union. In his free time, he enjoyed watching movies and spending time at his family's cottage in Eastham.

He was the proud father of Michael J. McElroy of WA, Cullen L. McElroy of Somerville and Timothy L. McElroy of West Bridgewater. He was the brother of Susan M. Thomas of Brockton, Daniel P. McElroy of Hanover, Lee A. McElroy of Shrewsbury and Timothy C. McElroy of Hingham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Monday, August 12 at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will be prior to the prayers from 4-7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130 or www.mspca.org.
