Michael J. "Mick" LaCivita, 89, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home in Stoughton. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Hickey) LaCivita. Born in Stoughton, he was a longtime resident of Stoughton. He attended Stoughton Schools and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. Mr. LaCivita was a Technician 5th Grade in the US Army, serving in the 3rd Armored Division and a Veteran of World War II. He worked for several area shops including Mitchell & Sons Plumbing, Savini Sand & Gravel, Phillips Plastics in Canton and was a partner in the LaCivita Combining Company in Easton. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW both in Stoughton. As a young man, Mr. LaCivita enjoyed boxing and was a sparring partner of Rocky Marciano. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, carpentry and writing poetry.
Mr. LaCivita was the father of Kevin F. LaCivita of Brockton, Patrick A. LaCivita of Quincy and the late Michael P. LaCivita, Francis J. LaCivita and Lynnette K. Labriola. He was the brother of Christine M. Comeau of Taunton and the late Anthony, John and Michael LaCivita, Catherine Murphy, Mary Techiera, Adeline Costa and Ann Farrington. He was the father in law of Donna LaCivita, Patty LaCivita, Barbara LaCivita and Carol LaCivita. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 4 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-6 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Mick's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
