Maureen "Mo" (Murphy) DiStefano, 59, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was the wife of 37 years of Anthony J. DiStefano. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a 1974 graduate of Stoughton High School. Mrs. DiStefano also attended Bridgewater State College. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her children and was a member of the Daughters of Italy. In her free time, Mo enjoyed painting, cooking, traveling, gardening and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children; Anthony D. DiStefano and his wife Jillian and Alanna D. DiStefano and her longtime boyfriend Chris Gallant all of Stoughton. She was the proud grandmother of Aria DiStefano. Mo was the daughter of Lucille (Hill) Murphy and her partner Sandra Guinazzo of FL and the late Donald Murphy. She was the sister of Deborah Murphy-Dors and Daniel Murphy both of RI and Barbara Shannon of AZ. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in the Grace Church, 101 Wales Ave., Avon on Friday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
