Maureen M. Lappen, 61, a longtime resident of Sharon, entered into rest on Saturday, March 12, 2022. A devoted mother, Maureen is survived by her children, Michael Lappen and Mia Lappen, both of Sharon. She was the daughter of Mona (Qualls) McKinnon of Florida and the late Michael McKinnon, and the sister of Michele, Mona, Michael, Marcus, Monica, and Mathew. She is also survived by her former husband, Mark Lappen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Raised in Stoughton, Maureen was a graduate of Stoughton High School class of 1978 and became a registered nurse, last working for a visiting hospice. She enjoyed traveling and has backpacked in Europe and visited many countries throughout the Middle East. She also loved daytrips and overnights to Ogunquit and the White Mountains, as well as spending time strolling Castle Island on a beautiful New England weekend morning. Maureen was a fan of forensic crime shows, took great pleasure cooking meals for her family, and walking the family dog Jake.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, March 23 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sharon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private. Donations in Maureen's memory may be made to CARE Southcoast, P.O. Box 149, East Freetown, MA 02717.
