Maryjane (Duggan) Ahern, 76, a longtime resident of Sharon, died at Norwood Hospital on March 16, 2014. She was the wife of 53 years of John M. "Jack" Ahern. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Arlington. She was a resident of Sharon since 1960. Mrs. Ahern was a secretary at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon for over 30 years before retiring at age 63. She was very active at St. Mary's Church in Mansfield and was passionate about Massachusetts Citizens for Life for many years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ahern is survived by her children, John M. Ahern, Jr. and his wife Debbie of W. Boylston and Jeanmarie C. Ahern of Sharon. She was the grandmother of PO2 Thomas Ahern, USN, Caitlin, Yvette, Johnny, Angelina, Kevin and Natalie Ahern. She was the sister of Alice Smith of PA, Catherine "Gerry" Fitzgerald and John "Butch" D'Ambrosio both of NH and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St., Mansfield on Friday, March 21 at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
