Mary E. Sweeney

Mary E. (Macaluso) Sweeney, 95, died on Sunday, February 27 at Cape Heritage in Sandwich. She was the wife of the late John J. "Pop" Sweeney. Born in Brockton, she was raised in Stoughton and educated in Stoughton schools. Mrs. Sweeney was a resident of Falmouth for the past 11 years after living in Stoughton for 75 years. She was a stitcher at Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton for 30 years before retiring 30 years ago.
Mrs. Sweeney is survived by her son, Philip F. Sweeney and his wife Patrice of Falmouth, as well as her granddaughters, Kate and Maura Sweeney. She was the sister of the late Bernard Macaluso.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 3 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
