Mary E. Murphy

Mary E. (Fassnacht) Murphy, 92, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 5, 2015. She was the wife of the late John F. Murphy. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was raised in West Roxbury. Mary was a graduate of Boston schools and the Fay Secretarial School in Boston. She was a resident of Stoughton for the past 62 years. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker. An avid reader, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, needlework and gardening.
Mrs. Murphy was the mother of Paul V. Murphy of Mansfield, Brian G. Murphy of Bridgton, ME, Kathleen L. Raggiani of Foxboro and the late John Kevin Murphy. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, January 9 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Graveside prayers will take place at the chapel at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to St. Anthony's Free Market, 2 Park Ave., Stoughton, MA 02072.
