Mary E. (Hurley) Maloney, 86, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Victorian Mansion Assisted Living Home in Attleboro after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Chief Charles L. "Buddy" Maloney, Avon PD. Born and raised in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. She was a longtime resident of Avon, before moving to Marshfield over 20 years ago. Mrs. Maloney worked as a Medical Librarian for the Cardinal Cushing and Brockton Hospitals in Brockton for more than 20 years, retiring at age 63. She volunteered at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church in the Child Grief Program for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, sewing, swimming, traveling and spending time with her family. The Maloney family would like to thank family and friends and in particular the staff of Victoria Mansion in Attleboro and to Jill Beaulieu for their support and the care and compassion shown to their mother over the last months of her life.

She is survived by her children, Mary Kathleen Savini of Marshfield, Jane Tutino of VA, Charles L. Maloney III and Peter J. Maloney both of FL, Thomas J. Maloney of Groveland and James E. Maloney of Easton. She was predeceased by her son Joseph J. Maloney. She was the sister of John "Jack" Hurley of Easton, Louis Hurley of GA and Virginia Nolan of W. Bridgewater and sister-in-law of Anne Gorman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Catherine, Nicole and Jack Savini, Maria and Gabriela Tutino, Chad, Sara, Matthew, Charlene, Billy Maloney and Madeline Burdine. She was the great grandmother of Lilly and Charlie. We will all miss her greatly.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, November 11, at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, Avon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery, Avon. Donations in her memory may be made to the Home for Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Avenue, Boston, 02115 or to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Bldg. 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor, PA 19087.
