Mary R. (Venuti) Lewis, 86, died on Tuesday, July 7 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late John Lewis. Born and educated in Boston, she was a resident of Stoughton for 30 years. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and also worked as a stitcher at the Collegiate House in Boston. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Lewis was the mother of Justine Colaninno and her husband Nick and Kathleen Simons and her husband Michael all of Stoughton and the late John Lewis. She was the mother-in-law of Jean Lewis of Canton. She was the sister of Dominic Venuti of West Roxbury, Margaret Pulgiese of Canton and the late Matthew Venuti, Antoinette Forte and Jennie Ashburn. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 10 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Mary's name may be made to Cooley's Anemia Foundation, Mass. Chapter, 44 Joseph Rd., Newton, MA 02460. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
