Mary "Susan" (Langley) Kenney, 66, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 peacefully at her home in Stoughton after a 6-year battle with lung cancer. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Westwood and was a 1976 graduate of Westwood High School. In 1984, she married William J. Kenney at St. Timothy Church in Norwood, and together they shared 39 years of marriage and raised their three beloved children. They were longtime residents of Norwood until moving to Stoughton 8 years ago.
Sue dedicated herself to nurturing young minds as a teacher at the Westwood Children’s School for many years retiring several years ago. She later worked as a nanny. Sue cherished her summers on Cape Cod, finding joy in laughter, browsing the racks at T.J. Maxx, evenings watching “The Voice” or “American Idol” and her Dunkin Donuts coffee, hot medium regular w/ hazelnut. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, finding fulfillment in the warmth of her family's embrace.
In addition to her husband William J. Kenney, she is survived by her children, William J. Kenney, Jr. and his wife Brittany Perham-MacWhorter of Woodland Hills CA, Nicole M. Kenney of Stoughton, MA, and Brendan J. Kenney and his wife Amy Amendola of Los Angeles, CA. She was the beloved sister of Deborah Ellis of N. Attleboro, MA. Richard Langley of Seven Valleys, PA, John Langley of Norwood, MA, and the late Robert Langley. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Langley. Sue is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Liam C. Kenney and Avery R. Long.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 4-7 PM. Graveside services will take place at Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter St., Norwood, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 11 AM. Donations in Sue’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
