Mary T. "Shrimpy" (Halloran) Kelleher, 87, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died October 24, 2015 at the Bay Pointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center surrounded by her devoted family after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Kelleher. Born in Tewksbury, she was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1945. She worked as the Food Service Manager at the Helen Hansen School in Stoughton and retired in 1995. Mary Kelleher was an active member of the Stoughton community. She was a member of the Stoughton Historical Society and volunteered at the Immaculate Conception Church and worked the voting polls. Mary was a fifteen year volunteer at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble and cribbage. Always eager to learn new things, most recently, she established a Facebook page and was an avid player of Words with Friends. She loved cooking, baking and sharing Sunday dinners with her family. She enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and, above all, loved spending time with her family and friends. Shrimpy opened up her heart and home to all.
Mary is survived by her beloved children; Barbara M. Smith and husband Stephen of Harwichport, formerly of Stoughton, Tricia Kelleher of Stoughton, Mary Theresa O'Connor and husband John of Canton and Christine K. Carr of Norton. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Edward Kelleher, Jr. She was the sister of Barbara Simms of Stoughton, the late Margaret McCormick and John J. Halloran, Jr and her brother Thomas Halloran, who died October 25, 2015. Mary is also survived by her seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 9:15 AM Followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
