Mary J. (Kulo) Doten, 57, died at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on Friday, April 27 after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Schweitzer) Kulo, she was a resident of Brockton for several years after living in Stoughton for many years. She was a graduate of Stoughton schools and attended Massasoit Community College and N.E. School of Floral Design. Ms. Doten was a receptionist at Goddard Transitional Care in Stoughton for 4 years before retiring in 2003. She was a former CCD teacher at St. Patrick's Church in Brockton and St. Ann's Church in West Bridgewater. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crafts and cats.
She is survived by her children, Joseph S. Doten of Whitman, Kimberly C. Pascarelli and David E. Doten both of Brockton, her devoted fianc, Randy Cutting of Brockton and her sister, Carol Lee of Whitman. She was the aunt of the late Peter Lee. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, May 1 at 9:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, W. Bridgewater at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. Burial will be private. Donations in Mary's name may be made to MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm St., Ext., Brockton, MA 02301.
