Mary E. (Regan) Dixon, 73, a resident of Leisurewoods in Rockland, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice in Milton on Thursday, June 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Donald D. Dixon for 54 years. Daughter of the late Cornelius and Helen (Lawson) Regan, she was born and raised in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School, Class of 1960. She was a resident of Stoughton for 43 years before moving to Rockland 4 years ago. Mary was a certified nurse's aide at New England Sinai Adult Day Health Program for 10 years before retiring several years ago. Prior to that she worked at Stoughton Diner for 8 years, as well as several other local restaurants. An avid Boston sports fan, she also enjoyed bowling and volunteered assisting with the elderly after her retirement. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dixon is survived by her children, Timothy Dixon and his wife Michelle, David Dixon, Deborah Melanson and her husband Thomas, Kellie O'Neil and her husband Buddy and Daniel Dixon all of Stoughton and Heather Gleason of Avon, as well as her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Stephanie, Chrystina, Cassandra, Michael, Meagan, Sarah, Jason, Patrick, Kevin, Hannah, Jordan and Sophia. She was the sister of Marilyn Lane, Elaine Flanagan, Edith Cashel, Robert Regan, Carolyn Cormier, Patricia Dundulis and the late Cornelius and Phillip Regan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, June 21 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
