Mary Elizabeth (Clancy) DeGrande, 74, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, November 19, 2020. She was the wife of Joseph C. DeGrande for 49 years. Daughter of the late Arthur J. and Elizabeth M. (Golden) Clancy, she was born and raised in Lynn and graduated from Nazareth Academy in Wakefield and Newman Prep School. She also attended Northeastern University. Mary was an X-Ray technician at Lynn Hospital, Carney Hospital in Dorchester and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare in Braintree for 25 years before retiring 10 years ago. She also worked at Creative Preschool in Stoughton for 15 years. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years and was active in Stoughton Youth Sports for several years. Mary was the President of the Stoughton High School Booster Club for 10 years. She cherished her summers spent at Lovell Lake in New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children, Melissa R. Mello of Stoughton, Michael A. DeGrande of South Easton and Timothy J. DeGrande of Rockland as well as her grandchildren, Madison, Vinny and Drew. She was the sister of Helen Bolino of Lynnfield and is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, November 27 from 4-7 PM. Masks and social distancing required. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the Funeral Mass will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135.
