Mary M. Busby

Mary M. (Weatherspoon) Busby, 74, died at home in Stoughton on Thursday, July 19 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Rayfield Busby. Daughter of the late Waymon and Lessie (Sneed) Weatherspoon, she was born in Quitman, GA and educated in Georgia schools. She moved to Roxbury in 1957 then to Stoughton in 1965 where she has resided since. Mrs. Busby was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Boston for many years. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, cooking and fishing.

Mrs. Busby is survived by her children, Carl Weatherspoon and his wife Marian of Wareham, Linda Ross and her husband Richard, Jerry B. Busby and Robert S. Busby and his wife Stacy all of Stoughton. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Samuel of FL, Alberta Samuel and Violet Brown both of GA and Rebecca Herman of NY as well as 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held from the Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Pkwy., Brockton on Monday, July 23 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours at the church prior from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Mary's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
