Mary Dolores (Collins) Bertram, 78, died Tuesday morning at her home surrounded by her family under the care of the Hospice of Greater Brockton. She was the wife of the late James J. Bertram. Born in Oak Park, IL, she was a graduate of Ascension School and Trinity High School. Mrs. Bertram was a resident of Stoughton since 1954. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bertram was active at St. James Catholic Church in Stoughton and, along with her family, was one of the original parishioners. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Catholic Women's Guild at Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Bertram enjoyed wintering in Siesta Key, FL for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and grandchildren.

She is survived by her family: Capt. James J. Bertram Jr. (Stoughton FD) and his wife Paula of Stoughton, John E. "Jack" Bertram and his wife Susan of Milton, Mary Beth Meyer and her husband Gerry and Paul C. Bertram and his wife Kimberly all of Easton and Richard C. Bertram and his wife Karen of Middleboro. She was the sister of Charles Collins and Patricia Kane both of IL and the late Lawrence Collins, Edward Collins, Robert Collins, Raymond Collins, James Collins, John Collins, and Margaret Collins. She was also predeceased by her uncle, the Rev. Charles Murphy, SJ. Mary is also survived by 10 grandchildren and a family friend Margaret "Peg" Mahan of Dorchester.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 27 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St James Church, 560 Page St, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Donations in Mary's name may be made to Stoughton Council on Aging, 110 Rockland St., Stoughton, 02072. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
