Mary (Rusilko) Banis, 93, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at the Braemoor Nursing & Rehab. Center in Brockton on Thursday, September 4 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Walter Banis. Born and educated in Stoughton, she was a last worker at George E. Belcher Company in Stoughton for many years before retiring 30 years ago. She was a former member of the United Lithuanian Society.
Mrs. Banis is survived by her son, Peter E. Banis and his wife Karen of Stoughton and her grandchildren, Emily M. and Jennifer J. Banis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul E. Banis and her siblings, Macalia Wood and John Rusilko.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, September 8 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Mary's name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
