Martin J. King, Sr., 61, died at home in Hingham on Friday, March 2 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Lucille J. (Gosselin) King. Born in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Dorchester High School and Suffolk University. He was a resident of Canton for 16 years before moving to Hingham 3 years ago. He was also a resident of Plymouth for the past 27 years. Mr. King was the owner and founder of King & Associates Health Care Financial Management in Braintree for 17 years before retiring 6 years ago. He was a member of the Plymouth Yacht Club and the Priscilla Beach Assn. in Plymouth. In his free time he enjoyed sailing, fishing, lobstering and golfing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. King is survived by his children, Martin J. King, Jr. and his wife Megan of Rumford, RI, John M. King of Quincy, Michelle R. Solomon and her husband David of Braintree and Meghan J. King of Dorchester as well as his grandchildren, Madison King, Martin King, III, Myles King, Jack Solomon and Lucy Solomon. He is also survived by his mother, Josephine F. (Anastasi) King of Stoughton, his siblings, Dennis King of MD, Janice Garrigan of Stoughton and Robert King of CA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin E. King.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, March 7 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place in Plymouth.
